To build and to destroy 2003

To build the personal boundaries, the walls of life, and to destroy them; constantly, to build them and to destroy them, for one’s sake. To start all over again. To build over the rubble, the same way is build downtown Mexico City, building over building, skin over skin, Xipetotec alive with his dead skin over.
In a poetic way, I crate a volume, I modify the space, I create a new space. And then the collapse, everything falls down, to tear down everything. The cleaning process, to separate the rubbish and to rescue some materials from the rubble. To leave everything as it was, clean. As if nothing ever happened, but there it was, it is there in the memory, in the hands and the body, the dust in the lungs, some marks on the place, wounds.
In an objective way, these works are my investigation in space and volume about some aspects of life and the human condition. I am interested that the public get inside the works, in the spaces, as if they were introducing in their own mind, in their heart; to encounter their own shadows, their perception levels, their dimensions, to discover their own niches and interior windows.
These works have been built up with recycled materials founded in ExTeresa. My intention is to use what is in the place the same way one can use and develop our own resources, to learn new things, to develop new skills, from oneself.
My way of work tries to be so specific to space and time, that one could be ready in any moment to respond with my work. To be conscious of time and space in the present, to respond to them in a coherent way.
