Vortex 1995-97

This is the work of my first years in New York City. “Vortex” expresses the whirlwind I was living in.

The works are sculptures and graphic interventions using images from the world of fashion; newspaper cuts, magazines, books, and plastic figurines.

They are small pieces, extremely delicate, precarious, ephemeral, and ridiculous.

Based on the exercise as the work itself, on frivolity, on a life that is fragile, futile like an image on the page of a magazine.

These are my appreciations of the people, my first visions and understanding of the culture of a new city and environment for me.
